Vehicles are being stolen every day, and vehicle thieves ride in stolen vehicles until the police chase ends. According to witnesses, a high-speed chase occurred on Friday, July 1, 2022, in the Bryant's Addition neighborhood in south Monroe. The crash happened on Marx St., and police tracked a stolen vehicle where it was wrecked. According to witnesses, the driver escaped, but some juveniles in the car were picked up by their parents and allegedly not charged. The SUV owner had just purchased the vehicle that was stolen a few days after. It is unknown how the vehicle was stolen, if keys were left in the car or if it was running. Drivers beware and alert.
