Monroe Dispatch - No Struggle, No Progress

Morristine Chisley, Sr. and his twin sister were born in Rayville LA to the late Mr. & Mrs. Eli Chisley Sr. They are the youngest of six siblings. He is married to Orlanda Chisley and they are the parents of four children, grandparents of twelve grandchildren and one goddaughter. Rev. Dr. Chisley enlisted in the United States Air Force after high school. In 1979, he began preaching the Gospel at St. Luke Baptist Church in Alto LA. where he received his License and ordination in 1980. Later Rev. Dr. Chisley joined Avenue Baptist Church under the late Rev. Dr. L.B. Oliver. Rev. Dr. Chisley was elected to Harmony Baptist Church in 1990, St. Paul #1 Baptist Church in Wisner LA in 1992, Liberty Hill Baptist Church in 1994 until 2014 and is currently the Pastor of Galilee Baptist Church in Start LA. He is excited and thankful to be selected as Pastor of Avenue Baptist Church in Monroe LA, "where everybody is somebody and Christ is essential.
