Teachers lineup their cars for parade

On Friday, May 1, 2020, Minnie Ruffin Elementary in Monroe held a parade to encourage and celebrate its students. The idea of a parade was birthed from a faculty Zoom meeting. The parade traveled throughout south Monroe, led by Chief Deputy Marshall Robert Cherry, who helped with the logistics.

"We felt that we needed to reconnect with our Minnie Ruffin family of parents, students, and shareholders. This was important to us, and we have enjoyed it tremendously. We have also enjoyed the positive feedback from the community." said Minnie Ruffin Principal, Sylvia Brass.
