10-Year Old Shot

Many places which were once considered safe like schools, hospitals, and churches are not safe anymore. We now add home to the list of unsafe places. One must wonder how all these once safe havens have folks on edge. According to police reports, a ten year old youngster was shot at his house by a random or stray bullet. Imagine looking at television, playing a video game, or reading the bible at home and being shot by a stray bullet. On Monday June 18, a bullet entered a residence wounding a 10 year old boy around 1:00am in the 1300 block of South 3rd St. in Monroe, LA.

It was unclear where the bullet entered the residence, but it did strike a youth in the leg. The youth was taken to the hospital and is now recovering from non-life threatening injuries. If you have any information regarding this case contact the Monroe Police Department at (318) 329-2600.
