Hear the Cries

October 20, 2022

Sometimes, a blessed place can look and feel a lot like a cursed place. When neglect, disorganization, disunity, discord, violence and poverty takes over an area, it begins to look desolate. Monroe, Louisiana is at that place and has been for a long time. It’s been over twenty years that Monroe has suffered neglect in certain communities. Monroe's minority districts have experienced little to no change. How long is too long? How much is too much? The current administration was welcomed in, hoping that change would come. Citizens are still counting on this administration to do what hasn’t been done in years- bring real and visible change to minority communities. The elderly and infants are in these communities. Little boys and girls with big hopes and imaginations, are in these communities. History and a future are in these communities. Citizens just don’t have enough to look forward to, in their own communities. Monroe elected officials, listen to the cries of the citizens, because the cries are going out in different ways. They have been for years. Eventually, cries become anger and anger becomes votes. The minority districts need much improvement. I’m not talking about a little “concealer” here and there; they’re due for a complete makeover! If God’s people aren’t taken care of, He has a way of raising up those who will take care of them. Hear the cries! Sometimes, a blessed place can look and feel a lot like a cursed place.
