Words Hurt

Most of us have heard the saying, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." As much as many would like this to be true, the truth is, words do hurt.

Words have destroyed friendships and marriages. Words have separated families. Words have gotten people fired from jobs. Words have caused fights. Words have even caused wars and ultimately, destruction. Some people have lost their lives because of words.

The Bible itself is known as the Word. It speaks of how powerful words are. In the beginning, God used words to speak things into existence. He heals with just words....
