  • The Time Has Come

    Pastor Tharris Bishop|Jan 27, 2022

It is time to speak up and not shut up. It is time to show up. It is time to boycott West Monroe by not shopping at any of the city's stores and not eating in any of its restaurants. Blacks in northeast Louisiana should not spend any of their dollars in West Monroe until the city makes its government, educational systems, and businesses operate in ways that value Black residents. Some White people from the area think it is okay to say anything they want. They believe that other races, specifically Blacks, are supposed to lie down and take what...

All of the dust over a video that went viral of a West Monroe High School student allegedly using racial slurs will take a little longer to settle. The video went viral about a week ago after threats were rumored at the school's campus, causing some parents to check their children out of school. The presence of extra law enforcement was seen at the school though school officials would later say that there were no credible threats made at the school. The video, allegedly made by a female student...

  • Uninvited Drama

    Jan 27, 2022

Relationships are sometimes tricky, perhaps more often tricky because of the individuals. If there is no understanding or getting to know an individual very well, complications can and will develop. Sometimes one of the individuals may want more than what he/she is willing to give but still expect more. What makes matters worse is when one or the other feels they can leave and come back when they get ready. Life doesn't work that way. According to police reports, that happened recently when an...

  • Rising Deadly Drug Overdosing

    Jessica DeTiege|Jan 27, 2022

Conversation about drug use within the Black community is a restricted conversation. Beyond hearing the occasional sad story of how some OD'ed and ended up in jail for explicit behavior or witnessing someone exhibit obnoxious erratic mannerisms, we don't like to talk about it. I can certainly understand why there are not any true and in-depth conversations about drugs and drug overdose. There are those who may judge and ridicule those who made the decision to use drugs. Recovering users stand on the other side not wanting to experience further...

  • You are equipped for this!

    Katima Epting-Wiley|Jan 27, 2022

Romans 8:19 For [even the whole] creation [all nature] waits eagerly for the children of God to be revealed. Sometimes, when the Lord calls us to something, we begin to think upon all of our limitations, lack and disabilities; yet, we fail to realize that it is the Unlimited that is calling us forth. We forget that God qualifies. We don’t qualify ourselves nor do others. We have a Creator, who in His infinite wisdom, designed us for a purpose- for His glory. In Him, we live, move and have our b...

Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord. He reminded the Lord that he had walked perfect before him in truth, and with a perfect heart, and had done good in his sight. Hezekiah wept sorely before the Lord. God heard Hezekiah’s prayer, and saw his tears. So, God added 15 years to his years on earth. God gave the king a sign to confirm his promise, by l...

    Marion Obafemi|Jan 27, 2022

Copyright 2016 Written By: Mr Marion Obafemi and inspired by God "He anointed my head with oil", is used as a metaphor, for God's word being poured into my mind Its like oil getting between my thoughts, to smooth out my crooked walk, so my steps do not cross the line. My head holds this oil like a cup, that's so full that I have just enough, to give to somebody else This load is heavy upon my shoulders, my full cup is running over, so I must go out and share the wealth. With the people who live...
