Our community mourns the loss of an admirable man who lived a life of honor dedicated to his wife and family. Jimmy L. Briggs Jimmy L. Briggs was born to the late Louvenia Cheffin of Allen Port, MS and Ephriam Briggs of Start, LA. Jimmie retired from Holsum Bakery after working 40-plus years. He had a passion for hunting and loved dogs. He often combined his two passions, saying his dogs could hunt rabbits, squirrels, and fish. Those who knew him well even gave him the nickname "Dog" because of his passion. Jimmie was the bread and honey bun man to many in the community as he passed out different kinds of baked snacks, even to those he didn't know. Jimmie leaves cherished memories to his wife, Brenda Johnson Briggs, of 52 years; four daughters - Deborah Briggs, Vickie Briggs, Tammy Briggs, and Tonya Johnson; two sons - Jimmie Briggs (Sajuanna), Keith Briggs, twin sisters - Jessie Briggs Lengyon and Louvenia Briggs. Funeral services are Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. James Baptist Church #2, 2655 Richwood Rd. #2 in Richwood, LA.
