Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. They say that a criminal suspect almost often returns to the scene of the crime. Perhaps their way of thinking is to wait until the heat cools down before they begin to venture back out. Along with community involvement, it is only a matter of time and opportunity for law enforcement to apprehend the individual on their "wanted" list. That appeared to have played out concerning a recent arrest. According to law enforcement, Monroe Police said that officers responded to a call at the Oak Manor Apartments on Peach St. in reference to an alleged threat against someone. A suspect was alleged to have threatened a female and her son that he was going to shoot them. When officers arrived, they made contact with the alleged suspect, identified as Charles D. Holiday, who was also accompanied by another male individual. According to police, Holiday and the suspect began to run away from officers, allegedly concealing firearms. Both suspects ran to an apartment, but officers had to receive a search waiver form completed to search the apartment. Officers searched the apartment, where they uncovered a Glock 17 firearm and a silver revolver in the bedroom. The apartment owner advised officers that the weapons did not belong to her. As officers continued their investigation, they returned back to the female victim and confirmed that Holiday allegedly had threatened to kill her and her son. Holiday would be arrested, though he told officers he did not possess a gun. Holiday was also a suspect in a November 28, 2022, shooting at the same apartment complex following an altercation with a victim who told officers at that time that the suspect was someone named Charles. The shooting occurred when the victim was driving away when shots were fired at the vehicle. At that time, an arrest warrant was issued for Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property and Attempted Manslaughter. Those charges have been upgraded to include Illegal Carrying of Weapons, Resisting an Officer, and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. Holiday was taken to Ouachita Correctional Center(OCC) where his bond was set at $164,000.
