NAACP held its annual Freedom Fund Banquet Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Mount Zion Baptist Family Life Center. Mistress of Ceremony was Shelia Howell, secretary, NAACP Ouachita/Monroe Branch #6068. Guest speaker was former Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, Shawn D. Wilson. At the Freedom Fund Banquet Betty Ward Cooper recognized elected officials, NAACP branch presidents, event sponsors, and other special guests.
