Dear Young, Black and Gifted

February 16, 2023

Where did you go? So creative, undeniably innovative; you are the scene, plot twist & whole show. You have obtained but didn't sustain Your place in this world. What happened to the men and women, that were once intellectual boys and girls? You set high enough standards, that everyone knows who you are. Now you've traded your birthright, settled for “lentil soup”, And lowered your bar. Your Chanel shades Are blocking your brighter days. That light of security of hope, that’s been with you always. You've abandoned your first love Your Creator above, just to gain follows and likes, From temporary social media hype. You dress to impress, From the bottom to the head Misleading and being misled, Using harsh words & violence to speak; Imagine using your brain instead. Riding in Tesla’s and Hellcats, Yet you’re still in the same place. Going nowhere fast, Ending up on the roads of disgrace. Gas on “E” and so is your faith. Dear young, black and gifted, take a long look at yourselves, Because the young, lost and broken, Could surely use your help. Wake up Royalty!
