Parents beware a text message from any of your children's phone could change your family's livelihood. We live in a world driven by technology which can be a blessing or a curse. In this computer world which includes smartphones, parents beware that one text can change your families’ lives forever. Young people use social media facebook, Ticktock, Instagram, Twitter etc. as a means of communication. The problem with social media are the posts one makes, yet mamy text messages which were meant to be harmless, while when others see them they can appear to be a threat which are monitored 24/7. Every text message, cell phone call, smart television is being monitored. There is no privacy in this technological age. There used to be a time when no one knew what went on behind closed doors. A group text was made while all of the group made comments referring to this text when one member of the group sent a threatening text about an elected official. Law enforcement raced to arrest a twenty year old within minutes of the text being posted. Now his family is devastated that their family member is facing serious criminal charges which involves prison time and hefty fines due to a text message threat. Someone is monitoring our every moves since we all have cell phones, computer tablets. etc. Parents with young people please warn your children to be mindful of the text messages sent because threats or so called offensive texts cost more than many can pay!
