Hypocrisy At It's Worst: Pt. 2

October 13, 2022

Republicans all across America had to accept the consolation prize of being no. 2 following the presidential race of 2020. Despite all of the efforts elevating Donald Trump to “near king status, in the face of an impeachment and headline grabbing political news to bring down Joe Biden, Republicans lost control of Congress. Now with the 2022 midterm election just weeks away, Republicans are hoping that history stays the course of rewarding the minority party control of Congress in an off presidential election year(2022) as it has done so in the past. They are hoping that after the dust settles, control of Congress will revert back to them, meaning that they will be in charge of congressional hearings like the Jan. 6, 2021 hearings. Instead of the focus being on what involvement Donald Trump did leading up to and during that fateful day will not be about the ex-president. It will all be about what Hunter Biden did with whoever Republicans will bring to the surface, all in an effort to “get even” with President Biden. Despite what you may hear/read from some other media outlets, Mr. Biden is doing pretty well. His poll numbers are up, which Democrats should talk more about and the economy is in better shape than what Trump did in his four years. You will hear something much different on Fox News. But also on Fox News and right wing media, you will not hear nothing condemning GOP senatorial candidate Hershel Walker over his abortion related scandal. Walker is the darling of Georgia conservative voters who appears to be looking the other way, now that it is seriously alleged that he encouraged and paid for his former companion to have an abortion over a decade ago. Conservatives claim to be against abortion, even to when the life of the mother is at stake. That is Walker’s stance on the issue. Now that what Mr. Walker allegedly did is front and center, it has to call into question whether he is being a hypocrite for staunchly being against something that he supported. Despite the evidence of a signed check and get-well card with Walker’s name on them, the senatorial candidate seems to look at that as, “no big deal”. Walker can feel like that because he has the support of “born again” people who also seems to be looking the other way when the candidate that they support hold the key to what they have always wanted. Power

The Trump supporters are willing to give Walker a pass just as they did for Trump, despite the many nasty things he said about “swooping down” on women and “grabbing them by the”, as well as saying words that Jesus never said in scripture. Walker has said that he is born again, but he can’t say one good thing about his opponent who is Rev. Raphael Warnock, a Democrat. While Rev. Warnock has been preaching and being on the line for voting rights, Walker allegedly has had multiple children from multiple women and never been called “a model father” to any of them. It is because of Walker’s involvement in the campaign, that the nation(and Trump supporters) has found about his secrets. It got so bad that his son Christian, went on social media and called his father out for being a hypocrite. Did that faze conservatives? No. They dismissed Walker’s son as if he was an orphan, as Walker never known for a “family values” stand, simply said “I love my son”, but didn’t say that he loves all of his children. That doesn’t matter, as Walker is following the lead of those who will control him if he wins the senate seat. First and foremost, he will “owe everything” to Donald Trump and to the religious right. Not as in morally right, but according to their political ideology that being conservative policies is what is best for the nation. That is really like being stuck in neutral. The rich gets richer, social programs will suffer and voting becomes even more difficult. When was the last time conservatives put forth progressive voting ideas. Speaking of progress, how can a nation progress if it is conservative to its past?

Walker says that he is “saved by grace”, but he hasn’t been honest/forthright in his statements. He has lied about his achievements in the academic world as well as business world. He has stated that he “worked in/with” law enforcement which was not found to be true. Isn’t one of the things that “born again” people strive to do, is tell the truth? One can sacrifice oneself to the world for the sake of power. Born again people were not commanded to “take over” the world, as Jesus didn’t conquer one nation. He said go out and do the things that he showed/told and preach the gospel. Power will come later, but not at the way those in many religious circles seek it. God’s laws just like his grace is sufficient. The church was not set up to rule the world before Jesus’ return. But here in America, many are being told they don’t have to wait. We will do it our way. Pride goes before the fall. But it is the lust for power that conservatives crave and it if means using the scriptures to get/hold on to that power, being a hypocrite means nothing. Remember, the world is watching. So is God.
