Monroe Dispatch - No Struggle, No Progress

Another shooting into a group of people occurred once again in Monroe on Peach Street. The shooting which occurred Saturday morning after 1 AM happened in the 2000 block of Peach Street outside of an apartment building. This particular shooting according to Monroe police, had fatal consequences. Police said that 18-year old Jesstavioun Moore, died from injuries sustained in the shooting. MPD said that the incident occurred when a group of people who were outside of the apartment, were approached by several other individuals, when more than one of them produced guns and opened fire. Police say that “several” rounds were fired resulting in four of the individuals being hit. MPD reports say that two of the victims were located at the scene, while two others were at a local hospital. MPD didn’t initially say where Moore was when he succumbed to his injuries. While shootings in Monroe continue, many are wondering and asking where and what is the crime plan to attempt to curb the deaths of young black males? No one in leadership has stepped to lead to solve this vicious cycle of black on black crime which is happening more often. Just wondering what’s, when and where’s a crime plan to curb the shooting violence in our city. There is a B.A.L.M. in Monroe is a Spiritual solution to a social problem.
