Hearts are saddened after word about a two-vehicle car accident on LA Hwy 139 on Friday, June 24, 2022, was publicly shared. According to LA State Police reports, a Dodge Charger crossed the centerline for reasons still under investigation and struck a Hyundai Sonata traveling south. This crash took the life of Prentiss Starr, 48, of Monroe, LA. Starr was restrained and suffered serious injuries. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The other driver was injured and is suffering from non-threatening injuries. Impairment driving in Louisiana seems to be a cause of many accidents, according to State police. In 2022, Troop F has investigated 15 fatal crashes resulting in 19 fatalities. Drive defensively and watch out for other drivers on the highway.
