Get Ready

The pandemic has brought many changes in the lives of lots of people across the globe. The most significant thing that is changing is the way we work and the work that we do. The first computer in the US was created in 1946, invented by J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly at the University of Pennsylvania. It took up about 1,800 square feet and weighed almost 50 tons. That is the size of a large two-bedroom apartment and the weight of about eight male elephants. Now in 2021, we have cordless computers in our hands that work using a network that is both fiber optic and wireless. Most companies work to create more efficient ways to conduct business. Technology and its evolution have created many efficiencies like automated systems and robots. Innovations in technology like Artificial intelligence (AI) have disrupted traditional agriculture, medical, and manufacturing industries. The use of such technologies has especially been amplified during this time as we continue to evolve into a world that relies more on technologies to help us have less human contact but still carry out functions of work. Some see AI as a tool that will take jobs away, while others offer it will help us work more efficiently. The revolution is here whether we like it or not. We now need to shift our thinking and doing. Traditional roles like cashiers and truck drivers will soon be jobs of the past. Retail technicians, electrical mechanical engineers, and virtual service agents will replace them. Let's get ready.
