Monroe Dispatch - No Struggle, No Progress

I am a concerned citizen of the Town of Richwood (TOR). During its February 16, 2022, regular Council Meeting, an ordinance was introduced as a proposed Districting Plan for the TOR with ordinance # 2022 - 01. The ordinance emphasizes the fact that the council members must provide leadership with a vision that will unify the town, and more effectively deliver services to the citizens who put them in office. Moreover, these council members recognize that sometimes innovation is threatening to people who want to hold on to the status quo, however, council members must not falter in their resolve to bring about meaningful changes that will help eradicate problems in the TOR, such as taxation without equal representation of its citizens that live in the town's new subdivisions. ln addition, this ordinance will not only provide equality in the TOR elections and equal representation of its citizens but will also create an opportunity for the town to achieve its city status, with a better opportunity to obtain its own zip code as well as generate new sources of revenue that will help grow and empower the town of Richwood. - Mrs. Valerie W.
