Monroe Dispatch - No Struggle, No Progress

It is truly strange and even mind boggling to consider an event such as The Famer’s Market during this COVID Pandemic yet, this Saturday we will be hosting the first of a yearlong venture right on the Southside of town. The purpose of the Market is to promote health and wellbeing so the question is “How can this be accomplished when crowds are discouraged and the pandemic is on an uptick”. The solution is very simple. We will abide by the rules given to us by the CDC. First of all, everyone participating whether they are vendor or buyer MUST wear PPE. This includes both a face mask and a face shield. People may think this is overkill but the truth is that we protect each other when we cover our mouth and we protect ourselves when we cover our nose. It is not rocket science. If we want the fun we must abide by the rules. Secondly temperature checks will be made before costumers can enter and hand washing will be practiced throughout. As much as we want the first day to be a “smashing success”, We also do not want to become a “Hotspot. Saturday October17, 2020 from 8-8:30will be known as the day something good happened in South Monroe that promoted health and prosperity. Come out and shop but Shop safe for you and your neighbor.
