Carolyn Goodin, Candidate for Monroe City Council, District 5, is a lifelong resident of District 5. She's a married woman of Christian faith. Her family includes her husband: Sigmund Treadway, Retired USMC and her two children: Charmanique Goodin and JaMichael Goodin and 7 amazing grandchildren. Carolyn Goodin was educated in the Monroe City School System. She excelled academically at Burg Jones Lane Elementary, Thomas Jefferson Jr. High and at The Wossman High School. Post high school, she earned her Associate of Arts Degree from Louisiana Delta Community College, Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She retired from the West Monroe Police Department and currently works there part-time. During her tenure at Monroe Police Department, Ouachita Correctional Center and West Monroe Police Department, she counselled and advocated for many offenders because she believes that, "a bad decision does not make you a bad person" and that "a changed mindset can lead to a changed a behavior."

Carolyn Goodin is asking for your vote on March 23, 2024, because she wants to be the driving force in being the change she wants to see in District 5. Changes she will like to see in our district include: An affordably priced grocery store; Brighter and improved lighting; Leveled and safe sidewalks in high-traffic areas; Crime reduction; Improved police relationships with the community; Programs for Seniors; Summer Youth jobs and empowerment programs; Reconstruction for infrastructure on Winnsboro Road; Adequate funding for recreational and beautification projects; Higher pay rates for City workers and no rate increase on water bills without the approval of the City Council. VOTE # 44 - CAROLYN GOODIN - "IT'S OUR TIME."
