Augie J. Bosley has been embroiled in a lengthy property ownership dispute with the Ouachita Parish Assessor's Office since 2005. The conflict stems from a property purchase in Monroe by Ms. Bosley from a man whose family she was well acquainted with; despite her close relationship with the family, there were alleged objections to Bosley's ownership of the property. In 2005, a family member deeded the property at 507 South 11 St. in Monroe to Bosley. However, an Affidavit of Correction was filed on June 6, 2007. Subsequently, on September 27, 2007, the property was reportedly sold by the same family member who had objected to Bosley's ownership. Throughout this time, Bosley continued to pay taxes on the property.

In 2015, Bosley discovered an ownership dispute regarding the property and sought clarification from the Ouachita Parish Assessor's office. She expressed concern over changes made to the property's status, which she believed were legally filed in the Clerk's office. Bosley alleged that an individual at the Assessor's Office harassed her when she attempted to address these discrepancies. She claimed that on one occasion, she was threatened with a criminal trespass charge, and on another, two men in the office physically confronted her. Despite these incidents, Bosley was not charged or arrested.

The Assessor's office appeared to have altered the property's address from 507 to 5071/2 South 11th St., causing confusion in mail delivery. Bosley raised further issues with the Assessor's office in 2017, alleging malfeasance by two individuals who reportedly aided another party in the dispute over the property. Despite providing 12 years' worth of legal documents to the Monroe Police Department, the matter was deemed a civil dispute, and no police action was taken.

Despite facing numerous setbacks and legal costs, Bosley remains steadfast in her pursuit of justice, believing she has been wronged. She is considering further legal action to resolve the ongoing property dispute.
