The Carver-McDonald Branch Library in Monroe LA , held a program to celebrate with the community, Chef Darrell Teats, known for cooking on a local television station was Thursday, February 22, 2024. You missed a TREAT! The community sampled tea cakes and received an African American tote bag. The American tea cake was created over two hundred years ago by African slaves in the southeastern United States.
