Oretha A. Richardson's Rise to Glory

Oretha A. Richardson was born on September 6, 1932, and transitioned to Glory on January 29, 2024. Born in Mangham, LA, Oretha was a graduate of Alto High School and Grambling State University. She earned her master's degree from Northeast Louisiana University (NLU), now ULM. Oretha dedicated 35 years of service as a teacher in the Ouachita Parish School System before retiring. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at New Saint James Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. Visitation will take place on Friday, February 9, 2024, 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Hester's Central State Funeral Home Chapel located at 811 Louise Anne Ave. in Monroe, LA.
