Shooting Suspect Apprehended

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. A local man, who had been wanted by law enforcement authorities, was apprehended during a recent traffic stop. On January 29, 2024, deputies from the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office (OPSO) stopped a silver Ford Fusion being driven on Highway 165 with an unreadable temporary tag. According to the deputies' report, the driver of the vehicle was identified as Patrick Tillman. Tillman was of interest to deputies because he was wanted on an arrest warrant for allegedly being involved in a shooting incident that occurred back in September of 2021.

According to court documents, an incident on September 28, 2021, involved several female subjects in different vehicles at the intersection of Dellwood Dr. and Blackwood Dr. Court documents indicate that the female subjects exited the vehicle when an altercation began, causing damage to the vehicles. The report also indicated that a 7-month pregnant female subject was inside one of the vehicles along with two other female subjects. After the females left the scene following the altercation, Tillman allegedly encountered the female and reportedly shot at a vehicle that his ex-girlfriend was in. Deputies were informed that Tillman allegedly fired at the vehicle five times. An arrest warrant was obtained for Tillman for Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence and two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.


During the January 29 traffic stop, Tillman was detained, and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Deputies discovered marijuana, a loaded gun, a scale, a large sum of money, and plastic bags. In addition to the earlier charges of Aggravated Assault-Domestic Violence and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story.
