All About Impeachment

Republicans in Congress are doing all that they can to bring Donald Trump an early Christmas present. Well, maybe an extra present to go in his Christmas stockings. If Trump should happen to win back the presidency, there will be no stopping him from doing whatever he wants. But if Trump somehow becomes the next president of these United States, what do you think would make him an even happier man? As of now and throughout the rest of the campaign season, Republicans in Congress are working on the one thing that Trump wants to see more than any other man. And that is to see President Joe Biden impeached by Republicans in the House. Never mind the fact that Republicans in Congress are doing exactly what Trump has wanted since he left the White House. Republicans on oversight committees still do not have the(or any) smoking gun that directly implicates Biden in any wrongdoing, as it doesn’t matter. Since they can’t implicate Biden directly, they have placed all of their chips on Biden’s son Hunter. They have been trying for months to get Hunter Biden to appear before them to give a deposition, albeit in private instead of making him appear in a public setting. Republicans will tell you that they are “digging for the facts”, even though much of Hunter’s business dealings are already public. Those witnesses who have already appeared at various hearings have not been able to produce the one thing that they can tie President Biden into any of his son’s ties with foreign businesses, not even the president receiving a red cent for any personal gain. But there is a report out in the media of Trump when he was president, as it’s been reported that he made millions of dollars when he was in the White House even though Trump said that he would divest himself from his empire while he would be in office. Perhaps when Democrats regain control of Congress, they may take a closer look into the financial dealings of Trump’s family members now that a New York judge will soon tell us what it cost Trump now that Letitia James has won her case against him.

Despite having NO evidence of President Biden being directly involved with his son, Republicans have formally opened an impeachment inquiry which means that they can keep the president’s name in the media and that of his son in an effort to change the public narrative of corruption from Trump to Biden and Democrats. They can ask for endless documents from the White House before they can get to the place where the full House would have to take a vote on whether to bring impeachment charges against the president. Republicans are also aware that if the House should happen to vote for impeachment, it is virtually impossible that with 67 votes needed to remove a sitting president, that will not happen. To begin with, every Republican (218) would have to vote for impeachment. But over in the Senate, even if it wasn’t controlled by Democrats, there are nowhere near 67 Republican senators to convict. So what is the endgame for Republicans? Staying on Trump’s good side, that’s what. There may be some Republicans who would rather wait until they have some “receipts” on President Biden, even though they know that’s what Jim Jordan, James Comer, Marjorie Taylor-Greene, and yes, the Louisiana Republican congressional delegation are only satisfying their base and Trump. Louisiana’s Republican governor who used to be the state’s attorney general has already endorsed Trump for president, even though if an ordinary Louisiana citizen was facing so many legal issues, he would be screaming about “bringing that individual to justice”. Don’t let them tell you that an impeachment “is necessary” because they are doing it for the American people to remove a “corrupt” president from office. So, if you should hear any Republicans say that it is “not about impeachment” because of what they are doing to Hunter Biden, then let the courts handle him and leave the president alone. But that won’t happen, not as long as Trump is in charge. How else can one explain why a guy under four indictments is still able to hold back any presidential challengers without breaking a sweat? We may have the first presidential nominee who represents the “party of values/law” actually win the nomination and run in the general election all under threat of going to prison. This is not supposed to happen in a nation that lifts itself up as a shining example for other nations of the world to follow. That “city” on a hill one Republican president once said. Remember, the world is watching us. So is God.
