Monroe Dispatch - No Struggle, No Progress

Anesha Handshaw graduated with a Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree in Nurse Anesthesia in a Fall 2023 commencement at the University of Southern MS. Anesha was honored with an induction into the Gamma Lambda Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She received a Mentorship Award for the Nurse Anesthesia Program, receiving her National Board Certification for Nurse Anesthetists to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Her late aunt Gloria Johnson Ard predicted she would become a doctor when she was just a little girl, and now that prediction is a reality. Anesha is the daughter of Rev. Edward and Nettie Handshaw of Columbia, MS. She has Monroe, LA roots through Chineeda "China" Ard, Mr. & Mrs. Mickel Johnson, and Kathy Beasley. Congratulations Anesha!
