Friday, December 15, 2023, will forever live in the life of Monroe's own, Dr. Victor Butler. Tawanna James and the Gloria Chorus, a singing chorale of Monroe, presents seasonal cantatas during the year at St. Matthew Church in Monroe LA. In her musicals, she accents the accomplishments of deserving trailblazers in the area. This year, Dr. Butler was chosen. No stranger to the area, he has been a positive beacon to many, in and out of Monroe for decades. "I thank God for the awesome experiences He so possessed me with to offer to His people", says Butler. Special thanks to my mother, Mrs. Johnnie L. Butler, for life, and Tawanna for the special award.
