An initial news report stated that the still unidentified woman was shot and taken to a local hospital, where it was reported that she died from her injuries. According to a news statement from the Monroe Police Department (MPD), the victim was transferred to a hospital in Shreveport. MPD made a correction concerning the incident on Monday, December 4, 2023, stating that the victim was recovering and her condition had "greatly improved."
