There is good news on the home front. A local woman who was reportedly shot and killed on Owl Street on Sunday, December 3, 2023 did not die. An initial news report stated that the still unidentified woman was shot and taken to a local hospital, where it was reported that she died from her injuries. According to a news statement from the Monroe Police Department (MPD), the victim was transferred to a hospital in Shreveport.
