Young Black people are succumbing to gun violence at an alarming rate. The combination of prayer, corporal punishment, parental distrust of schools, and the challenge of children having children has created a nightmarish dilemma. Without plans to address this spiritual epidemic, it will only worsen. According to police reports, a shooting occurred on Heritage Circle in Monroe, LA, where a 20-year-old was found with a gunshot wound. Unfortunately, the victim later died after being taken to the hospital. Gun violence knows no bounds; bullets travel until they hit something, leaving no one safe if an errant bullet enters your home. Monroe's crime problem won't improve without a crime prevention plan.
