Every school year brings about its own reasons for worry and anxiety. Some fear not being able to provide the things their children need. Some fear not having adequate help academically. Some fear failing their children by not being able to get them the latest. Some fear school dangers. It's understandable, but the wrong mindset still. Someone has to declare, “Not This School Year!” Not this school year, because you are going to trust God. Not this school year, because you’re going to do your best and not feel bad about being unable to fulfill unrealistic expectations. Not this school year, because God will provide, protect and guide just like He always does. Instead of worrying about the most popular name brands, fads, and trends, pray for your children to have a productive school year. Support your children in their endeavors. Encourage them when they feel their best isn’t good enough. Show grace when they fall short. Establish order in your home. Enforce rules, and love them through the good and the bad. Relax, and take care of yourself too. Speak life, and refuse to accept defeat. You haven’t trusted God the way you’re supposed to. You’ve worried more than you’ve prayed, but not this school year! Commit everything to God’s hands, and expect His best this school year.
