Rev. Isaac George Newman home going was June 30, 2023. The funeral was held on July 8, 2023 at Antioch Baptist Church 310 S. 24th Street, Monroe, LA. Reverend Wayne Buggs, Pastor. He was born in Monroe, LA in 1948 to the late Mr. Eddie and Mrs. Rosie Newman. The minister accepted Christ at an early age, baptized and remained a faithful member of Progressive Baptist Church. His early years of school started at Little Flower Catholic School and ended up attending North East State University with one semester remaining prior to receiving a degree of completion at the University. Rev. Newman was multi-talented with certifications in Auto Mechanics, Plumbing, Building and Construction. He became an ordained minister during the seventies. Rev. Newman loved spending time with his family and performing public service for people. The minister enjoyed fishing. Before retiring, he served 30 years with the City of Monroe Water and Sewer Department. He never met a stranger and always wanted to save every lost soul. He did not ever leave the ministry, he put all his trust into a Phenomenal and Almighty God, and it was the work of his life until his demise. Rev. Newman was married to Mrs. Elouise M. Newman for more than forty-three years. She preceded him in death and a son Calvin who preceded both parents in death. He is preceded in death by both parents, four siblings- Ricky Newman, Terry Newman, Michael Newman, Eugene Newman, and daughter Angela McGee.He leaves to cherish his precious memories four daughters, Felecia Newman and Jennifer Newman (Fletcher) both of Monroe, LA. Rosetta Beard Smith (Paul), Shreveport, LA. Debra Saunders, Richmond, VA. Siblings, Dr. Bonita Newman Douzart, Betty Rose Newman, Belinda Newman, Eddie Newman III, (Sonia), Laurence Newman (Jean), Henry Newman, Rodney Newman and Dave Newman: 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, three Aunts, three Uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, ministers, and friends.
