Woman Bathing Flees Break-in

Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. A local man is in serious trouble after he was taken into custody by Monroe police officers for allegedly breaking into the home of a woman he alleged he was in a relationship with; according to reports, recently, officers were called to the victim's residence in response to a domestic disturbance. The victim's ex-boyfriend, who was identified as Rawtivis Ignont, allegedly broke a bedroom window while the victim was bathing. After entering the residence, officers said Ignont allegedly began to chase the victim, causing her to flee her residence. Ignont tried to grab the victim by pulling her hair and almost pulling her down during the alleged altercation. The victim was able to knock on a neighbor's door, and the two of them fell into the neighbor's entryway. Officers said that the neighbor was able to separate the victim from Ignont, and he went back to the victim's home. While conducting an investigation of the incident, officers obtained security video and saw Ignont allegedly chasing the victim. They also were able to see Ignont returning to the victim's residence. Officers secured an arrest of Ignont at the scene. Before transporting Ignont, the report mentions that officers observed blood and questioned him about it. Ignont, officers said, advised them that he sustained the wound while he was chasing another male subject who was attempting to enter the bedroom window. The blood allegedly came from running through bushes, cutting his leg through a field in an attempt to catch the male subject. After his arrest, Ignont was transported to Ouachita Correctional Center (OCC) and was charged with Home Invasion, Battery on a Dating Partner, and Simple Criminal Damage to Property.
