Willie Wilson's Cherished Memory

Hearts are saddened by receiving the news of Willie Lee Wilson's passing. Willie was from Monroe, LA, and was a 1959 Carroll High School graduate. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Wille was a husband, a friend, and a person you could count on. He worked many jobs and was intrigued by computers. He rebuilt his personal computer making it a state-of-the-art machine. Willie loved music and possessed an unbelievable old-school music library. His love for horse racing kept his interest in horse races going to many horse tracks throughout Louisiana and the United States. Willie and the late Frank DeTiege Sr. became masters of horseracing. He was married to Olivest Wilson, and one son was born to this union. Willie was a unique person who could easily perform any task before him. His mastery of numerous tasks helped propel him throughout life. Willie went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. His wife, Olivest, and son Malcolm Wilson are left to cherish fond memories. Graveside services are scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 1:00 PM at the Northeast LA Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, LA. Visitation is Wednesday, July 26, 2023, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Northeast LA Veterans Cemetery, Rayville, LA, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
