Genesis 50:20 As for you, what you intended against me for evil, God intended for good, in order to accomplish a day like this—to preserve the lives of many people.

We talk about the palace in the story of Joseph, but not enough about how the “pit” can be the stop before the transportation, to the destination. Joseph’s brothers threw him in a pit and left him there. They went off, and after conversation and deliberation, one brother (Reuben) came back, but Joseph was no longer there.
