Terry "Bug" Davis

A local family will say goodbye to one of their loved ones, who sadly was another victim of the senseless violence we see that is becoming more frequent. Terry Davis, a 20-year-old young man, was shot on Thursday, April 13, 2023, beside the Fast Stop (Valero) Store on Hwy 165, leaving a void in a family that now has to lay him to rest. Monroe Police are conducting an ongoing investigation, as several suspects are said to be in custody. Terry Davis was born in Monroe on March 12, 2003, to Brandy Nicole Davis and Terry Glenn Harris. He attended Gilbert Elementary School, Martin Luther King Jr. High School, and Wossman High School. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing video games on his PlayStation. Terry was preceded in death by his grandmother Carrie Elaine Harris, aunts, Sheree Davis and Brenda Harris, and special cousin, Karvance Stewart. He leaves to cherish his memories: his parents - Brandy Davis and Terry Harris; grandparents - Donna and Danny Brown; five sisters - Breushea Davis, Jarrick Davis, Kandice Mitchell, Chriteria Williams, and Shaterrika Lunch of Dallas, TX; eight brothers - Donterrious Davis, Otis Davis, and Rodricas Shaw, all of Dallas, TX, Domonique McKeel, Jarmarion Davis of Sicily Island, Rodtarrius Shaw, Ashton Williams, and Demarcus Armstrong; eight aunts - Shontel Davis, Stacy Davis, and Veronica Campbell, all of Wisner, LA, Relaurell Davis of Shreveport, LA, Sharon Carter, Cynthia Harris, Ursula Harris, and Valarie Harris; five uncles - Terry Davis of Wisner, LA, Danny Toliver, Oliver Harris, Bobby Harris, and Earnest Ray Harris of Monroe; four nieces, seven nephews, twelve great-aunts, three great-uncles; special cousins, Jaylen Harris and Semaj Harris; and a host of other special cousins and friends.

"To the living, I am gone, to the sorrowful, I will never return, to the angry, I was cheated, but to the happy, I am at peace, and to the faithful, I have never left, I cannot speak, but I can listen, I cannot be seen, but I can be heard, so as you stand upon a shore gazing at a beautiful sea, or as you look upon a flower and admire its simplicity, remember me. Remember me in your heart, your thoughts, and your memories of the times we loved, the times that we cried, the times that we fought, the times that we laughed...for if you always think of me, I will never have gone." A wake will be held for Terry on Friday, April 21, 2023, 6:00 - 8:00 PM at McFarland Funeral Home on Burg Jones Lane and Winnsboro Road in Monroe, LA. The funeral will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Greater Free Gift Church in Monroe, LA. The interment will be at Richwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Richwood, LA.
