Mr. Amos Brown Jr. was born to Amos and Roxie Brown Sr. on November 3, 1935, in Wisner, LA. At an early age, Amos confessed to Christ and was baptized at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Wisner, LA. He later joined Triumph Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon under the leadership of Reverend F.D. Nash and later Reverend Eddie Stewart. He was known at church to be the "singing deacon". He led many songs at the deacon pew as the "singing deacon" and unofficial choir member.
