A local family found themselves on the receiving end of what could have been a tragedy, as a local man allegedly tried to kidnap a member of their family. Monroe Police revealed that on Friday, February 24, 2023, an individual tried the unthinkable while walking in a parking lot on DeSiard Street. Police say that 33-year-old Anthony Price walked behind the family, grabbed the hand of a four-year-old, and began to walk the child away from the parents. Not aware of who Price was, the mother yelled for Price to release the child. Police then say that Price allegedly used profane words at the mother and said he didn't have to let go of the child's hand. When the father told Price he would call the police, Price released the child, according to police reports. Price was then said to have left the area of an apartment complex where the alleged incident happened. Officers would soon apprehend Price, and the parents identified him as the individual who tried to take their child away from them. According to law enforcement, Price's bond is $25,000.
