Ora Lee Brass was born on April 17, 1921, in Wisner, LA, to Saul and Neller Scott-Brass, who both passed away before her. In the 1940s, Ms. Brass moved to Monroe, LA, where she spent many years operating her salon adjacent to the house as a qualified beautician. Former customers continue to rave about how enthusiastic she was when styling their hair and how much fun it was to be in her company. Early in life, Ms. Brass made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ. She joined Avenue Baptist Church and faithfully attended there until her health started to deteriorate.
