Acts 13:47 For so has the Lord commanded us, saying, I have set you to be a light of the Gentiles, that you should be for salvation unto the ends of the earth. Today’s generation is all about the glitter, glitz and gold. Many want the spotlight. People are becoming more devalued, and dead things, that can’t comfort, heal or love, are what the highest value is being placed upon. If one isn’t claiming to be a boss, it’s like he/she has no significance. This world is more material than anything. These days, whatever it takes to get on top- even hurting and defrauding others, many are willing to do it. These riches are temporary and uncertain; they’re also deceitful. Don’t be one of those people. Dare to be different! Set standards that money cannot buy. Value people more than things. People are not disposable; things are. People aren’t replaceable; most things are. Realize that you are not in a race with anybody. Live your life in obedience to God, following His ordered steps, and amongst those who are outstanding, you will always stand out. There is no need to covet or compare. What God has for you, is surely for you. You don’t need to flash money, cars, jewelry or live in a mansion to be somebody. Being a dependable friend or family member, is being somebody. Being a praying & supportive mother/father, grandmother/grandfather, is being somebody. Being a positive, hardworking human, with morals and integrity, is being somebody. You are somebody already. Don’t measure success according to things. Thank God each day and live to please Him. A life of many things, can and will end. How we live for God, treat & love others, will remain before God and man. You don’t need the spotlight; you ARE the light. Shine! Don’t do so this world’s way; do it God’s way; so that others will be blessed by your light.
