School Drop Off Drama

Disclaimer: All are innocent until proven guilty. Is any place safe anymore? Places that were once considered safe havens, like schools, churches, etc., are not what they once were. People have changed or are exposing their true selves due to many different circumstances. Imagine going to school to pick up your child or grandchild, and someone disturbs you while waiting. According to police reports, on December 16, 2022, suspect David Ford III, 38, was harassing parents in the school drop-off line at an elementary school in Monroe, LA. Ford appeared barefoot in shorts and a tank top shirt and was said to be pulling on car door handles. After leaving the school, he retreated to a residence on Dayton Ave. where police found him answering the door naked. Ford refused to come out of the residence. Eventually, officers entered the suspect’s residence, telling him of his violations for which he was being arrested. The suspect would not cooperate with officers’ commands, allegedly fighting officers. Tasers were used to get the suspect handcuffed. Suspect Maude Allen was also in the residence and charged with interfering with officers by holding the suspect from officers. Officers struggled to arrest both suspects, eventually handcuffing them. Both suspects were arrested; Allen was charged with Resisting an Officer and Interference with an Investigation. Suspect Ford was charged with Battery, Resisting a Police Officer, and Unlawful Disruption of the Operation of School.

There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story. The Monroe Dispatch welcomes another or the other side of this story.
