No Struggle, No Progress

Garden District Shooting

Disclaimer: All persons are innocent until proven guilty. Is there any community safe from the wrath of gun violence in Monroe, LA? At one time, violence was happening in one particular section of town. Now that appears to have changed as violence can erupt on any side of town, even in the Garden District. According to police reports on Friday, December 2, 2022 multiple shots were heard and fired in the Garden District around Park Ave. and Maple St., where two people were shot. The two victims have not been identified, nor have any arrests been made. Gun violence has no bounds, and now or has been happening not just in south Monroe but all over Monroe. Still waiting on the crime plan, or was that only the topic of conversation when gun violence was "rampant in the city"? Will city officials step to the plate to protect tax-paying citizens from gun violence, or will we continue to count the number of murders hoping and praying for them to stop?
