Enjoy it while you can. A local family will not get to see a loved one's face around the family anymore as Monroe Police are investigating what has been described as a hit-and-run incident. According to MPD, the incident happened Monday, October 3, 2022, near the 7900 block of Desiard St. around 7:30 PM, as reports revealed that an adult male was involved in the alleged hit-and-run incident. Information released by MPD indicates that the victim was "riding a motorized bike" when a white SUV allegedly hit him. The victim has been identified as Samuel "SK" Keys IV. Family members say Keys had just left a pharmacy after picking up some medication when he was struck. They also said that it might appear that Keys may have been hit by a second vehicle, but that has not been confirmed. The family also said they lost another relative about a month ago. Monroe Police have posted a picture of the suspected vehicle and are asking anyone with any information concerning that vehicle to contact them.
