Sunday, August 28, 2022: Hallelujah and what a glorious day it was for The Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Monroe, LA! On that magnificent day, the disciples of The Liberty Hill Baptist Church celebrated the Installation of its new Pastor, the Rev. Herbert Shields. Inspired by the celebratory hymn, A Charge to Keep I Have, Rev. Shields is, indeed, a man of God dedicated to his calling in the ministry. He has served faithfully in the Christian Church for numerous years, including officiating services for two previous congregations. During the Installation Service, Rev. Shields and his magnificent wife, Sister Norma Shields, as well as all disciples, guests, and other attendees were blessed with a powerful sermon delivered by the Rev. Auburn Robinson, Sr. Jeremiah 3:15 -- "And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding "-- provided the scriptural basis for Rev. Robinson's potent message entitled "Now That You Got Him, What You Gonna Do With Him?" In response, The Liberty Hill Baptist Church welcomed Pastor and First Lady Shields with open arms! Rev. Shields enthusiastically looks forward to continuing to do God's work as well as advancing the Christian Church in Jesus' Name. Other participants in the Installation Service included such Guest Ministers as Rev. Barry L. Gipson, Sr.; Rev. Larry Tillman; Rev. Edward Wright; Rev. Michael Dean; Rev. Dave Profit; and Rev. Cliff Thomas. Sis. Freda Hoston eloquently extended the welcome. In addition, Sis. Maxine Swayzer provided the introduction of the guest speaker. The Tried Stone and Union Chapel Baptist Churches delivered the Song and Usher Service. The Liberty Hill Baptist Church congregation would like to graciously thank all who helped to celebrate the Installation of our new Pastor, Rev. Herbert Shields.
