Cuba Baptist Church in Bosco LA celebrated their 156th Church Anniversary on Sunday August 7, 2022 where Dr. Samuel Toney is pastor. Special guest was Rev. Herbert Pernell Ford and We Are Salt of Earth Ministries. Cuba Baptist Church has been in existence for 156 years 1866-2022. Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means 'rock'), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. Matthew 16:18 The Cuba Baptist Church had its beginning in Virginia under the leadership of the late Brother Phil Payne. Since this was during a period of enslavement, a group boarded a large vessel and was transported to the State of Louisiana and settled in the Bosco Community. In 1865 they were call together b a white minister the late Rev. Haggatt.
