Disclaimer: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty. In a situation where one could ask what could go wrong, all of the elements of something could go wrong. An unidentified local man is lucky to be alive and can perhaps count his blessings that a bullet didn't have his name on it. Or anyone else, for that matter. As recently reported, Monroe Police were called to the Coca-Cola Plant near I-20 about a shooting. Upon arrival at the business, police were told by a male employee that his girlfriend of one month, identified as 32-year-old Antionette Leshay Cash, allegedly battered him at his place of employment. MPD said that Cash came to the man's job and saw him talking to another woman. Reports claim that the man and the unidentified woman he was talking to were also involved in a relationship that was sexual. Upon seeing the couple, it was alleged that Cash left her vehicle with a gun in her hand and walked toward them. Cash then allegedly pointed the gun at the man's head, and a struggle ensued, with the other woman becoming involved over the weapon. According to police, a shot was fired into the ground during the battle.

Before the discharge of the weapon, and the struggle, heated words were exchanged, as witnesses at the plant quickly left the area once they observed the gun in Cash's hand. The exchange between Cash and her boyfriend became physical, with Cash allegedly pulling the victim's hair. At some point before police arrived, Cash exited the plant in her vehicle with a juvenile who was also present at the scene, confirmed by video cameras at the plant. According to MPD, Cash was arrested on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, and was taken to Ouachita Correctional Center. She has been charged with Illegal use of a Weapon, Aggravated Assault Upon a Dating Partner, and Battery of a Dating Partner. It could have been worse. There are three sides to every story. This was one side of this story. The Monroe Dispatch welcomes the other or another side of this story,
