Bessie Faye McHenry Jordan was born in Sterlington, LA on April 9, 1942 to the late Mr. and Mrs. S.O. McHenry. She was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Monroe, LA. She was a graduate of Carroll High School and Grambling State University and was a retired teacher from Ouachita Parish Schools with 37 years of service. She was married to the late Robert "Chicken" Jordan. Bessie Faye was a member of Zeta Phi Beta, Imperia Court Daughters of Isis (Prince Hall Affiliated), and Order of the Golden Circle (Southern Jurisdiction PHA).
