Monroe Dispatch - No Struggle, No Progress

It was a special day for the Smith-Stewart & Lewis families who recently celebrated their cousin's birthday. The families gathered at the home of Mrs. Annie Ruth Stewart-Staten in Monroe, LA, and enjoyed a variety of food, memories, and joyful conversations. Dr. Robert H. Smith was born May 9, 1921, to the parentage of the late Rev. Henderson and Rosie Lewis Smith on the Burks plantation near Rayville, LA. He is the oldest of three siblings, two deceased, Pearlie S. Hall and Rev. James P. Smith. He and his wife Grayce(deceased), were married for 74 years, and they have three children - Robert Jr, Rodney, and Rhonda.
