What if everybody looked the same, smelled the same, had the same jobs, walked and talked the same? What if we couldn’t look around and see anything new, exciting, or different? Could you just imagine what a dull, obtuse and uninteresting world this would be? We would miss out on the array of colors, shapes and sizes. We would capture but a very small, diminutive view- of the beauty that God has bestowed so immensely upon us. Uniqueness, variety, differences, are all essential; therefore, we should embrace the standing out; yet too many are so worried about fitting in. You are who you are because God made you that way. He’s a perfect God; therefore, you are created by perfection. You look around often and see others and desire to either be them or be like them. You want their hair, clothing, skin complexion, cars, money, houses, figure and more; because you just simply are not content with what God has done and is doing in your life. God bless your soul. You’re not alone. We all know what coveting feels like. We all know what discontentment is. We all know how it feels to want what we see, even if it may not be beneficial for our lives; but does it make it right? We look upon the beauty of others so much, until we miss our own. We try to fit in so much, until we miss our greatest opportunity to stand out. May I persuade you today, to embrace YOU. You are good; God concluded that. You are special, and you have a purpose that no one else can fulfill. How can you be them, when you are designed to be you? You’re worth more than you are giving yourself credit for; not only that- you’re missing out on reaching greater heights, because instead of using your own wings- you’re too busy gazing at how beautifully someone else is flying.
