According to police reports, suspects and significant others, Tavia Lawson and Kenisha Powell, became involved in a domestic dispute on May 27, 2022, at their residence and in a vehicle. Suspect Powell told police her live-in girlfriend of three years was upset over Lawson looking through her phone, which caused a rift outside the residence.
