We are living in very different and difficult times. Those adults who are in charge of raising children and young adults need to remain vigilant now more than ever with the unseen and unknown dangers young people are facing. Suicidal thoughts and actions are often silent enemies that can easily go unchecked because warning signs are vague or unnoticeable. The COVID-19 Pandemic was much deadlier than just those 997,000 reported deaths. The past two years have been an unprecedented time that took its toll not only on family members dying from COVID-19 but has been hard for those who lived through COVID, only to take an invisible toll that now is becoming apparent for many families. Life struggles many times are unknown until it is too late. Hearts are saddened by the passing of Arlana Janell Mitchell, who went home at an early age on May 4, 2022, in Baton Rouge, LA. Mitchell was a Southern University Freshman and cheerleader with a promising and bright future. Alana was the daughter of Rev. Arthur Miller and Janet Tappin. Her celebration of life is Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Community Missionary Baptist Church, 115 Beltline Rd., Desoto, TX. Visitation is Friday, May 13, 12:00 NOON - 9:00 PM at Golden Gate Funeral Home, 4155 S. RL Thornton Freeway, Dallas, TX. One never knows the internal struggles others face today or tomorrow.
